Eligibility conditions
All three exam conditions apply. DOB must be on/after 1 October 2002 (OPEN/EWS/OBC-NCL), or 1 October 1997 (SC/ST/PwD). Maximum two attempts in consecutive years. First Class 12 appearance must be in 2026 or 2027; the limited 2025 exception applies only where the board declared that academic-year result on/after 30 September 2025. All streams may take UCEED, but participating colleges have separate BDes admission subjects and qualification conditions.

An application extension does not automatically change the age or qualification cutoff. Date-only deadlines do not imply that the authority published a midnight closing time.
Exam pattern / marking scheme
English examination: three hours, 300 marks. Part A is computer-based, two hours and 200 marks: 14 NAT, 15 MSQ and 28 MCQ. NAT has no negative marks; MSQ uses partial-credit rules with a penalty for incorrect combinations; MCQ deducts 0.71 for an incorrect answer. Part B is one hour, 100 marks, with drawing and design-aptitude questions answered on paper. Both parts are compulsory.

How to apply, step by step
- Use the IIT Bombay registration portal, complete candidate and exam details, upload the prescribed evidence, pay the non-refundable fee and keep confirmation. Registration without late fee ends 31 October; the late window ends 6 November at 17:00.
Use the authority’s own application flow. Never share passwords, OTPs or payment PINs with us. Official application fees are separate from optional form-help charges.
Important instructions
An exam result does not establish admission eligibility. BDes admission is a separate process with institute-specific subjects, qualification and document requirements.
