Eligibility conditions
Undergraduates who have completed their degree or are appearing in the 2027 final examination may take JAM. Admission additionally requires each programme’s minimum educational qualifications and timely degree completion.

Exam pattern / marking scheme
Three-hour CBT: 60 questions, 100 marks; MCQ, MSQ and numerical-answer sections. Negative marking applies to MCQ only; MSQ has no partial credit.

How to apply, step by step
- Open the JOAPS portal linked by IIT Kharagpur, create or use your candidate account, select the permitted paper combination, upload the required evidence, pay the displayed fee and retain confirmation. The current registration deadline is 19 October. Follow the portal payment instructions; a distinct payment deadline is not stated in the current notification.
Use the authority’s own application flow. Never share passwords, OTPs or payment PINs with us. Official application fees are separate from optional form-help charges.

JAM exam eligibility and eligibility for individual admission programmes differ. Degree completion, required subjects and institution-specific minimum qualifications must be satisfied for admission.
