Eligibility conditions
Indian nationals aged at least 23 on 15 October 2026. Upper age and required post-qualification experience are 35/3 years for YP-1, 38/6 for YP-2 and 42/10 for YP-3. Essential qualifications must be regular/full-time and recognised by the specified professional/education bodies. Exact engagement-code qualifications and relevant project experience apply. Experience must be with a PSU, Government organisation, public limited company, PSU joint venture or private firm with a valid CIN. SAP certifications listed as desirable are not universal mandatory requirements.

Experience / licences
M-1 requires ten relevant years; C-1, C-2 and F-1 require six; the other codes require three. C-1 includes at least two SAP SD implementations, including one in the India version. C-3 includes at least one SAP implementation. Other codes require the exact marketing, software, tax, receivables, industrial-relations or environment experience described in the notice.
Physical / medical / skill conditions
Joining requires a general medical-fitness certificate from a qualified/authorised medical practitioner; SAIL may require further examination under its applicable standards.

Age relaxations and exceptions
Minimum 23 at the closing-date cutoff of 15 October 2026. M-1 is YP-3, maximum 42; C-1, C-2 and F-1 are YP-2, maximum 38; M-2, M-3, M-4, C-3, F-2, D-1 and E-1 are YP-1, maximum 35. The general 42-year ceiling is not an entitlement for every engagement.

Salary or benefit and conditions
Monthly retainership: YP-1 ₹70,000; YP-2 ₹1,00,000; YP-3 ₹1,40,000.
Selection / assessment process
Eligibility scrutiny followed by interview. Where applications exceed five times the requirement, a computer-based/aptitude/general-management/psychometric or other specified test may shortlist candidates for interview, ordinarily in a 1:3 ratio. All candidates tied at the cutoff are called. Final joining requires medical fitness.

- Use the SAIL careers link for CMO/YP/2026-01, complete one-time registration and log in. Select the engagement, enter details, upload the stated documents, review and confirm, pay the fee, submit and retain the Application ID and system-generated slip. Confirmed details cannot be edited. The notice advises applying for one engagement.
Use the authority’s own application flow. Never share passwords, OTPs or payment PINs with us. Official application fees are separate from optional form-help charges.
Important instructions
Engagement is initially for up to three years, with possible one-year extensions up to a maximum total of five years. This is a temporary contract for services and does not create a right to regular appointment.
