Who can apply?
Minimum qualification
Post-specific first-class engineering degree with GATE, or first-class BE/BTech and ME/MTech; Physics MSc first division with NET.
Eligibility conditions
Indian nationals. Metallurgy/materials: first-class BE/BTech in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, Materials Engineering or Materials Technology with valid relevant GATE, OR first-class qualifying ME/MTech and BE/BTech. Mechanical and Chemical require the corresponding first-class degree/GATE or first-class BE/BTech plus ME/MTech route. Physics requires first-division MSc Physics and valid NET. Degree/provisional certificate must already have been awarded. NET/GATE must remain valid at interview. Previous DRDO JRF holders cannot reapply.
Age and cutoff
Maximum28 on the closing date of interview, which is not yet announced; SC/ST+5 and OBC+3. No calendar age cutoff is invented.

₹37,000 per month plus applicable HRA.
Selection / assessment process
Shortlist using relevant NET/GATE score for BE/BTech/MSc applicants or ME/MTech percentage; interview in Hyderabad on a date notified later; original-document checks.

Both filenames start with post serial number followed by applicant name. Deadline27 October2026 follows the notice rule of21 days after DRDO website publication on6 October. This is an email application; there is no online Apply form. The action button opens the official application procedure/form PDF; it is not an online submission portal.
Use the authority’s own application flow. Never share passwords, OTPs or payment PINs with us. Official application fees are separate from optional form-help charges.
Important instructions
No right to permanent employment; no interview/joining TA/DA. Government employees need NOC or proper-channel application. Interview date controls the official age check; automatic DOB matching must wait for that date.
