Who can apply?
Minimum qualification
BVSc or BVSc & AH; permanent Bihar Veterinary Council registration
Eligibility conditions
Indian citizens with BVSc or BVSc & AH from a university recognised by the Veterinary Council of India, and permanent registration with Bihar Veterinary Council. Notified reservation and certificate conditions apply. Relevant contractual work can receive marks and age relief but is not a universal entry requirement.
Age and cutoff
Minimum 21 on 1 August 2026; ordinary maximum UR men 37, UR women/BC/EBC 40, SC/ST 42. Only expressly notified concessions apply. · Cutoff: 2026-08-01
Experience / licences
Qualifying same-post contractual veterinary service in Bihar government or stated eligible non-private/public institutions and notified departmental projects receives 5 marks per year, proportionate for part-years, up to 25. Marks are calculated through 24 September 2026; the separate age-relief cutoff is 1 August 2026. Claim the service in the form and supply the prescribed salary-payment certificate through the competent authority.
Category, domicile and PwBD
Reservation benefits require Bihar permanent residence and the appropriate caste/NCL/EWS or other prescribed certificates. Bihar-resident women, notified PwBD and eligible descendants of freedom fighters use horizontal allocations already inside the vacancy total. Do not add horizontal seats to total vacancies. Vertical totals: UR 228 (215+13 adjusted backlog), EWS 55, SC 207, ST 13, EBC 195, BC 78 and BC women 11 = 787. The 190 women shown are included, not additional. Candidates who passed veterinary colleges located in Bihar have the notified 50% horizontal reservation across categories. Bracketed backlog figures are included.
Read all post-specific conditions in the original notice. A discovery tag or this summary is not an authority-issued eligibility decision or a selection guarantee.
Age relaxations and exceptions
Age cutoff 1 August 2026: at least 21; ordinary upper limit UR men 37, UR women and BC/EBC men or women 40, SC/ST men or women 42. Notification allows 10 years for qualifying disability, 5 years for eligible regular Bihar government servants with at least three continuous years, and military service plus 3 years for ex-servicemen subject to actual age not above 57 at application. Special concessions are not added together: only one notified special route may be used. Reservation benefits and certificate requirements must be assessed separately. This advertisement also provides same-post/notified veterinary contractual service-length relaxation, capped at 8 years, assessed to 1 August 2026. The historical-age clause covers candidates within the stated maximum during 1 August 2021–1 August 2026 or becoming over-age in that interval, subject to other conditions.
