Minimum qualification
Graduate or recognised equivalent plus at least five years of trained Bihar Home Guard service.
Eligibility conditions
Indian nationals already enrolled and trained in Bihar Home Guard, including eligible daily-duty-allowance sportspersons; at least five years service/duty and at least ten years residual service on the cutoff date. Graduation or state-recognised equivalent by 1 August 2026. Male, female and third-gender Home Guards may apply. Age 24–50 for every category on 1 August 2026. This is in-service recruitment, not an open recruitment for all graduates.

Category, domicile and PwBD
UR27, SC10, ST1, EBC11, BC8, EWS6, BC women2. The 22 women and one eligible freedom-fighter-descendant allocations are horizontal, not added to 65. Bihar domicile is necessary for state reservations; women reservation is restricted to Bihar residents. EWS certificate uses FY2025–26 and specified paternal/category certificate rules apply.
Physical / medical / skill conditions
Male height: UR/BC165 cm; EBC/SC/ST160 cm. Women155 cm and at least48 kg. Male chest UR/BC/EBC81–86 cm, SC/ST79–84 cm, minimum5 cm expansion. No female chest measurement. Third-gender applicants follow notified BC physical standards and district-magistrate identity rules.

Selection / assessment process
Preliminary written examination, main written examination, physical standards/efficiency, document verification, medical fitness and antecedent checks. Final merit uses the qualifying main-examination score.
Exam pattern / marking scheme
Preliminary GK/current affairs:100 questions,200 marks,2 hours,30% minimum; up to20 times vacancies shortlisted. Mains: qualifying Hindi100 questions/200 marks/2 hours with30% minimum, plus General Studies100 questions/200 marks/2 hours;0.2 mark deduction per wrong answer. Up to6 times vacancies reach physical tests. Main qualifying standards: UR40%, BC36.5%, EBC34%, SC/ST/women32%.

How to apply, step by step
- Use the advertisement 11/2026 Company Commander registration link. Complete registration and ₹100 fee payment, then fill the application, upload photo and separate Hindi/English signatures and submit by 10 October 2026. Save the final registration/application and confirmation. Duplicate applications may be rejected.
Use the authority’s own application flow. Never share passwords, OTPs or payment PINs with us. Official application fees are separate from optional form-help charges.
Important instructions
Qualifying physical tests: men1 mile in6m30s, women1 km in6m; high jump4/3 ft, long jump12/9 ft; shot put men16 lb to16 ft, women12 lb to10 ft. Each test must be passed; no marks added. Photo within two months, white background,15–25 KB JPG/JPEG/GIF; separate Hindi and English signatures15–25 KB.
